Structural adhesive bonds low surface energy plastics

In response to strong demand from customers regarding their need for a fast-curing structural adhesive capable of providing robust direct adhesion to low surface energy plastics, the company L&L Products launched a new, innovative material as part of the L&L Bond A-K Series of room temperature cure structural adhesives.

No primers or plasma, corona, flame treatment needed

Designated L&L Bond A-K540, this structural adhesive is unique, i.e. it combines direct adhesion, without primers or plasma, corona, flame treatment, to low energy substrates such as polypropylene and polyethylene thermoplastics with very fast cure speeds at room temperature. A-K540 is also capable of bonding a multitude of other substrates, enabling combinations of polyolefin plastics with metal and composite substrates.

Specially formulated for structural bonding of PP interior trim

L&L Bond A-K540 is specially formulated for structural bonding of PP interior trim, including dashboards, door panels and center consoles. Other key applications include structural assembly of talc filled PP / TPO bumper modules, and structural modules incorporating GMT or LGFPP. Similar to the rest of the A-K series adhesives, A-K540 cures completely at room temperature.
